Meditation BiographySandra is a known for her down to earth, compassionate and intelligent approach when leading meditation groups and retreats. She began the study and practice of meditation over 30 years ago and it has been part of her daily life ever since. Her practise is grounded in Vipassana (Insight) meditation and she has been mentored by excellent teachers over many years. Her meditation experience is also informed by the study of the 'Way of Tea' at the Urasenke Chado Institute for more than six years in Japan. She undertook intensive Zen practice, at Hosshin-ji, in Obama, Fukui prefecture with Harada Sekkei, Roshi. Sandra has been fortunate to teach meditation to people from many walks of life and different cultural backgrounds. She developed a stress management program for Levi Strauss and Co. in San Francisco and pioneered a meditation and stress management program at the Buttery Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre in Australia. Sandra has worked with the homeless as an emergency relief counsellor and taught meditation courses for an Adult Community College. She initiated the popular workshop called "Six Months to Live" which was a profound experience for all participants. Sandra's contemporary approach is practical, precise and relevant with a sincere encouragement that you ground your meditation experience in everyday life. |
