Meditation BiographySandra Kimball began the study and practice of meditation over 28 years ago and it has been part of her daily life ever since. She teaches Vipassana (Insight) and Zen meditation and has been mentored by many excellent teachers over many years. Her meditation experience is also informed by the study of the 'Way of Tea' at the Urasenke Chado Institute for more than six years and also by her life-long commitment to yoga practise. During her career, Sandra developed a stress management program for Levi Strauss and Co. in San Francisco. She pioneered a meditation and stress management program at the Buttery Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre, worked with the homeless as an emergency relief counsellor and taught for Adult Community College in Australia over several years. Sandra leads meditation retreats and has been the guest teacher for several meditation groups. She initiated the popular workshop called "Six Months to Live" which was a profound experience for all participants. Every year she takes time out for an extended period of meditation. In Japan, where she has lived since 2001, she has attended four sesshin, intensive Zen practice, at Hosshin-ji, in Obama, Fukui prefecture with Harada Sekkei, Roshi. Sandra's contemporary approach is practical, precise and relevant with a sincere encouragement that you ground your meditation experience in everyday life. |
